Kiran Khan

Isn’t she just gorgeous? ❤

Since when have you started this makeover service? What triggered you?
I was a tom boy till I was 15. At 15 I got makeup done on myself for the very first time for my sister’s wedding and I loved it on myself. Ever since I kind of took a major interest in makeup. That interest turned into a hobby which now has turned into my passion, my worship! Yes I am that crazy about makeup. I like to keep myself very very informed by reading a lot about new products, new trends and experimenting on myself.

How do you stay motivated and what keeps you going? An inspiration?
I stay motivated by looking at International makeup artists and youtubers. To know what’s the new it thing. My biggest support has been my family and my fiancé.

What is your signature look that you and your clients both love?
I used to love gold glittery eyes and my clients still ask for that, however now I think I’d honestly done it a thousand times that I am now venturing into smokey glittery eyes which I myself LOVE and my clients also love this new look that I have been doing a lot lately. Its totally sexy and sultry.

Any funny or cool experience with a client that you would like to share? Who has been your favorite client so far? A favorite memory.
I get a lot of lovely and easy going clients, Alhumdulillah! There are so many to choose just 1. But I remember having over an engagement bride once. When I finished her makeup she kept on praising me that how much she loved it. So after she got ready and left, literally 10 minutes later I get a text from her that She loves my makeup so much a long with her mother, who were still in the car going to the venue. She couldn’t stop thanking me. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever!

What about a bad experience? Any failures, mistakes or regrets? A type of client you would refuse to take?
In any field of work or profession, you will come across people who are not so pleasant to work with. I absolutely hate when clients are not punctual. And once they aren’t punctual they ask me to rush which is not fair at all. You are given a time for a reason. I also don’t like when people interrupt me while I’m doing the makeup, asking if I will do the brows or if I have finished the base or if I will put kajal or not. I myself like to take feedback while doing makeup and before I start so I always tell them to wait and be patient, let me finish first and then tell me what to change. I’m always open to making changes if you don’t like it, since at the end of the day its your day not mine. I will do absolutely everything in my power to make you happy with my services.

Any message you would like to give to all the aspiring makeup artists and hairstylists? Any tips?
Please please train yourself well before starting a business. Entering this field or any is more about being professional and ethics. If you are an amateur take your time and practice till you feel you are confident enough to start. Please don’t start taking clients while you are learning yourself because it will look very unprofessional for your brand in the long run. Of course one learns along the way as well but my honest advice would be to ask for suggestions and critics from a third person and not family/friends, as they will just praise you and won’t give accurate feedback which we all need to excel in our fields.

  4. You advice is really good. That’s what I tell my friends who want to delve into this industry but they think it’s okay because everyone else is doing it. I don’t like to go into anything unprepared so I’m waiting to get proper training before I began such a career -Sadaf

  5. I am also on the road to adapting this professionally and haven’t even started taking clients but this thing about people asking you to rush and throwing all sorts of questions while you try to focus and work really pisses me off too >_<
