E.LF Highlighter (Moonlight Pearls) – Review | Munazza Bangash

*Listening to Black Widow (Iggy & Rita)* – “This twisted cat and mouse game always starts the same…”

Welcome back! Today we review Moonlight Pearls Highlighter by E.L.F Cosmetics.

Create a radiant glow with this illuminating powder that highlights the skin with a sheer wash of shimmering color. Infused with Vitamin E, Jojoba, Sunflower, Apricot and Grape to nourish and hydrate the skin. The long-lasting baked shimmering color can be applied wet for a vibrant effect or dry for sheer pigmentation.

E.L.F Cosmetics Baked Highlighter (Moonlight Pearls)

Packaging:

  • Plastic
  • Sturdy
  • Basic
  • Not at all luxurious
  • Transparent lid
  • No colors incorporated other than black

Quality:

  • Very hard texture
  • Pink undertones (doesn’t look very flattering on Asian skin)
  • No fall-out
  • Buildable

Application:

  • Extremely sheer  and barely visible (when dry)
  • Super intense (when wet)
  • Great for eyes when applied with finger

Their Claims:

  1. Radiant glow
  2. Sheer wash of shimmering color
  3. Long lasting
  4. Vibrant when wet
  5. Dry for sheet pigmentation

My Verdict:

  1. I’m not sure because I have to go back at building it up to see if anything is there on my face.
  2. It is a sheer wash, and it is more of a shimmer than a natural glow.
  3. True. It lasts all day, especially when you set it with a good setting spray.
  4. Extremely vibrant, and I have discovered this just yesterday. It is very vibrant when applied with some setting spray on the brush or just some water.
  5. Again; so sheer that it doesn’t even count as being there. You would really need to go in to get some pigmentation.

E.L.F Cosmetics Baked Highlighter (Moonlight Pearls)

Pros:

  • Affordable
  • Subtle glow for people who get intimidated by highlighter
  • Vibrant glow when wet
  • Sturdy packaging
  • No fall-out
  • Long-lasting
  • Buildable

Cons:

  • Too sheer of a glow for glow getters
  • Very hard texture
  • Very basic packaging
  • Pink undertone (not flattering on Asian Skin)

Rating: 3/5

Price and Availability: I got mine from La Viva Glam (Facebook Page) for about Rs. 900/-

Do I Recommend it? It’s not bad for the price point. It is actually pretty good when used wet. Give it a try.

That’s it for today. Till next time!
