What our our life is and what we want our life to look like; these are two different stories. Today we’re talking about everything that I idealize when it comes to the perfect Night Time Routine.
I’m seriously going to ignore my urges to add things like, “It would be ideal to have thick voluminous hair!” Because let’s face it, that’ll just be wishful thinking. Instead, what I would do is write everything that I can do but I don’t (but sometimes I do). This is what I want my night time routine to look like! It’s going to be glamorous, not gonna lie.
Comment below and let me know if you guys would like to read my actual night time routine.
Night time skin care is very important. I’m not too bad at it, but it’s not ideal. Before going to sleep I would cleanse my face with a very boujee kind of a cleanser, exfoliate my skin every other night, then apply a moisturizer, serum, eye cream, and what not. I would apply something on my brows and my lashes, too, and also exfoliate plus moisturize my lips. I don’t do all of that, but wash my face and moisturize before I go to bed.
Face is not the only part of my body that needs care. Ideally, I would take a shower every night, moisturize my whole body (LOL), wear fresh, clean, and comfortable PJs and go to bed. I would moisturize and massage my hands, feet and neck; hug a squishy pillow and fall asleep like a baby.
Bullet journaling is one of the best things to do if you want an organised life, but the thing is, it takes a lot of opening the journal and actually writing in it. Who has the time to sit every morning and night to write down things like how I felt the whole day. I mean, it’s great if we do, but that requires a lot of effort. In an ideal life, I would maintain my bullet journal like a dream.
Every night I would like to take a moment and reflect upon my day, my mood, habits, tasks etc. I would plan the next day of mine as well.
Don’t get me wrong, I love to set goals for my self and carry them out. I use Wunderlist for that. Bullet Jouraling is something that I used to enjoy; but now I just have a diary with a crappy Expense Tracker in it, and other things I like to record on a monthly basis to keep a track of my life. For my daily and weekly goals, I use my phone to the best of its capacity.
Meditation and Yoga
To ensure a good night’s sleep, yoga is the best option. I love doing yoga at any given time. Whenever I wake up, I take a few minutes to really stretch and open up my body. However, at night, it just feels like an extra task. I would love to incorporate a 5 minutes night time yoga into my routine to ensure a more peaceful night, on my part.
It’s not just ideal to have lesser screen time, it’s a necessity. We are all so used to our phones that we don’t realize the amount of time we spend on it. It’s really harmful. In a wonderful life, I would take my phone, set an alarm, and put it on my side table with my back to it. I would grab a paperback book and read before falling asleep.
The most important thing in a Night Time Routine, without doubt, is the sleep; the time you fall into the sweet slumber, the amount of sleep you get, and also the quality of it. If I lived my ideal life, I would fall asleep at 9 PM; no joke. It’s another thing that it’s not an ideal life and I actually fall asleep at 4 AM but we’re not going there.
I would make sure to get at least an 8 hour shut eye, and wake up early, healthy and happy.
Yes. I said it.
I’m currently engaged to the love of my life. Alhamdolillah. In my ideal night time routine, I would be with him unified by Nikkah, and fall asleep in his embrace. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of that.
And that’s it!
